Major Change For Women Safety In India

WOMEN'S Safety is one of the biggest needs of today. Every woman has the right to step out of her house without fear and fulfil her dreams and can live with respect in the society. We have to understand that women’s safety is not just a matter of law but also a change of reality. Unless we look at girls with understanding, sensitivity and respect in our homes, schools and society, this change cannot happen easily. For the safety of women in India, every person will have to take responsibility to create a safe and respectful environment for women. Only then can we imagine a strong and safe India.

For the safety of women, it is not enough to improve the legal system but along with that it is also very important to improve the social system. For all this, the Indian government needs a good policy so that Indian women can be uplifted in the society. For women's safety and development in India, both the government and society will have to work together to do some important work. Only then can the welfare of women be achieved. Not only the government can do anything in this, but the society will also have to cooperate to implement some strict rules made by the government in Indian society.

If we talk about women safety and the laws made for women safety in our India, then we have found that India recognized as the most dangerous country for women in the world. India was ranked as the most dangerous in Four specific areas.1- sexual violence 2-discimination 3- Traditional and human trafficking and AI related.

For the safety of women in India, the Indian government will first have to focus on their social security. only when society sees them as equals can women improve. For this the government should take some important steps which are described below.

Participation of women in political, judicial and security systems.

POLITICAL SYSTEM

Steps taken for the safety of women in India require a system where women have equal share in the biggest powers of India. The government should take such a step where there should be a provision of reservation up to 50 percent for women in the political system of India so that women can feel strong and can give a strong message to the society about the role of women in the development of a democratic country. Women wearing bangles can never be weak.

JUDICIAL SYSTEM

It is the misfortune of our country that women do not have equal participation in the judicial system of India. Today, there are 763  judges in 25 High Courts of our country, out of which only 108 are women. There is only 6 percent participation of women in the Supreme Court of the country, which is equal to about 14 percent, while in the district court this number is 38 percent. The government should think about this system and take appropriate steps. Because European countries provided opportunities to women in the judicial system for their safety and development, which had positive results and in today’s time the situation of women’s safety is very normal. Similarly, if women are given equal participation in the judicial system by the government in India, then along with the safety of women in the society, their own development, as well as the development of the country is also possible.

SECURITY SYSTEM

Our Indian society may consider women weak today. But the women of our country have proved time and again that wearing bangles does not make a woman weak. Whatever responsibility was given to women in today’s time, they have discharged it well. When the women of our country got a chance in BSF, they helped protect the Indian border. When the government gave them a chance in CRPF, they took charge of the front against Naxals. And maintained the internal security system of the country. There are many such examples. Therefore, the government should increase the number of women in the security system so that more women can be inspired and take responsibility for their own security. They can make themselves strong.

IMPROVE WOMEN SAFETY SYSTEM

RESPONSIBILITY OF GOVERNMENT AND SOCIETY

Gender related evils are spreading rapidly in Indian society for the safety of women. There are many reasons due to which women are unsafe. For this, every section of the society will have to come forward. For example, if we talk about patriarchal thinking, how can society decide that women are not that important for the development of society, then the government needs to make such a law which can reduce the gap between men and women. And strict punishment should be arranged against those who do not follow it. And awareness schemes should be arranged against discrimination so that women also understand every responsibility which the other section is doing.

The Indian government has made many laws for women, but their positive results are not visible on the ground. There are many reasons for this, one of which is lack of education, lack of awareness among women, lack of resources and structures that have been created, due to which punishment is not given immediately. The Indian government should strengthen all the internal complaint committees that have been formed. I believe that if there is a lack of resources and infrastructure in the internal complaint committees, then there is a need to bring changes in it and also give them the right to give immediate punishment to those who do wrong with the safety of women. So that in future those who commit such mistakes can also know about this punishment.

AI  ACT

In today’s time, our country is developing very fast technologically in which technology has the most important role. If we want, then by using digital platform and artificial intelligence properly, we can eliminate social evils because there is a lot of potential in it. But if we talk about its other aspect, then it has become a big threat to the safety of women, due to which women are also getting stigmatized by the society. Along with this, the threat to their safety is also increasing. Therefore, the government should make AI law in India in which it is displayed and wrong data is not used. The government will have to make a law keeping in mind that there should be maximum penalty and punishment for violation of data security rules so that women can be protected in the society and Indian women can also feel safe like in European countries.

Any society or country can develop only when every person can do his/her work independently. Therefore, both the society and the government should understand that no single section of the society is sufficient for the development of the country. Therefore, the section which has been left behind should be brought forward. They should be made to feel safe and the evils that have been created against women should be broken and all sections of the society should help in the development of India by protecting each other.
